[Poem] Timo Schmitz: “Children are dying everyday!” (2015)

Looking tired, you see my aim?
You thought of it just like a game.
But I made the rules not to break,
In sad faces, for happiness’ sake.

Feeling weird, but I realize,
It’s a dirty world and cold cold eyes,
Seeing frozen characters on the ice,
Where matches matching just by dice.

Feeling helpless, you just betray,
The whole world in the way you say,
You think you have good qualities,
But don’t see dead children’s realities.

You have to face, you are not good,
You see every war, and don’t take a look,
And don’t risk your life to make a change,
Pay with small world’s bloody wage.

[Poem] Timo Schmitz: “Feel me in your lover’s wave” (2015)

Feel me in your lover’s wave,
Strong hearts fail in lover’s grave,
Gloomy mist just fades away tonight,
In the dark marching with a light.

Feel me not in lover’s space,
Where hope is just a taste of waste,
And faces fall down, masks disappear,
In a night of lover’s fear.

Timo Schmitz: “Take me to Nebraska”(2015)

Lonely fields are filled around,
No stranger’s worlded silent sound,
When diamonds freeze in Alaska,
Please take me to Nebraska.

No hush can shake the earth alike,
A soft tornado’s butterfly,
But everything will go on, in turn arounds,
And soy bean fields all along my eyes.

Sweet painting, black ink blurred,
Allocated in water where it starts to flirt,
Veiled, covered with dark mascara,
So take me to Nebraska.

Timo Schmitz: “I hope that we can be” (2015)

I hope that we can be,
Love huge like the blue sea,
And time won’t let it go,
And distance filled with snow.

I hope that this is true,
And follow me as you do,
That sunshine can’t hide,
My heart’s deep delight.

Vast mountains still far,
Coins still in the jar,
Which time can prove?
I stand at the top of the roof.

[Poem] Timo Schmitz: “Journey round the world” (2015)

No matter what you might think,
I’m in search of big adventures.
And longing for the missing link,
A place without any pressure.

No one can stop me to go where I want,
Cause staying means my heart’d be hurt,
And even no nightmare can dare to haunt,
Because I like to travel in the world.

Even if you try to stop,
Letting me find my sacred home,
I’ll go there – and the running clock,
As time will pass, I’m all alone.

Translation:

Rest in peace
By Timo Schmitz

We get older with the years,
Until sometime in the end we close the coffin,
With wisdom guided by a star,
We will not hear the suffering,
Where pain does melt away,
Just love stays in our heart.

[Poem] Timo Schmitz: “10 minutes after my confession” (2013)

Today is the day that I confessed,
Your eyes were glowing,
The poem lying on the desk,
You were talking to me as I dreamt,
I am happy about the time we spent.

Now it’s getting better,
The sun in my heart, my best weather.
I care about you as I never cared before,
And saw a side of you that you never showed before.
It is the part of you that I adore.

Keep me happy as you did today,
Everything is past – yesterday,
All that counts is tomorrow,
Where I will have no more sorrow.

[Poem] Timo Schmitz: “10 minutes before my confession” (2013)

Also if I am close to you,
I’m still far away from you,
As closer I come, as less I understand,
If you are the angel, to be sent.

At least you don’t show,
At least you don’t throw,
The dark curtain around,
But what I search in you just can’t be found.

I don’t mind if you don’t choose me,
I only want you to be lucky,
Like a virgin in the dark blue sea.

In a July’s dream I dreamt of July,
And never found the answer to that “why”,
I can’t conquer your heart’s inside,
It seems so gloomy, so I want to lit a light.

Never letting you know what I really feel,
If I confess it won’t be real,
My heart might be a mass of steal.

No one knows how much it hurts,
Can’t express these things in words,
It makes the cold evening feel even colder,
My feelings still fresh, not a second older.

[Poem] Timo Schmitz: “Long time no see” (2013)

I haven’t seen you for so long – missing,
Your seat is empty today – missing,
And you are far away – still missing.

And when I remember you just now,
I’m not afraid of your eyes,
I could never take a vow,
My hope never dies.

Look, you are pretty, so what?
You always behave like you are god,
But this huge facade must be empty inside,
You are nothing special, I don’t hide.

And although you are nothing good to me,
I still love you,
But I won’t accept you anyways,
You can’t return from those rainy days.

[Poem] Timo Schmitz: “Confession to myself” (2013)

Tomorrow is the last day to see you for a long time,
I think I guessed right, you won’t be mine,
You have passed my way, without a word,
But you can’t destruct my heart with your sword.

I know what you think of me, please don’t play,
I have an anchor, I will go my way,
But I will save you when you drown,
And yet, I know, you will let me down.

I should forget you, now is the best time,
If I can realise that you won’t be mine,
Why do I love you so deeply, and yet I hide,
You don’t know my feeling, take me for a ride.

If you knew, it would change nothing.
So I will keep it my secret,
If you knew, you wouldn’t be suffering,
Because I know – you won’t care!
