The Red Banner philosophy was publicly introduced in 1996, but soon perished out of public media as the Songun philosophy was introduced in 1998 as state reason of the DPRK, replacing Juche philosophy. However, a religious movement arised out of the Red Banner Philosophy combining Korean shamanism and Confucianism with honor and loyalty towards the DPRK, and people gathered in political places of worship, such as obelisks, statues, community spots. After the death of Kim Jong-il, the situation in North Korea worsened very much and a strong dissatisfaction towards the so-called “Great Marshall” appears which also struggles the religious movement whose basis in fact is political efficiency, which is defunct now.
